01

Emergency Contraception

Available 8.30am-9.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-7.30pm on Sundays

If you have had unprotected sex or you think the condom split during sex, then you may need emergency contraception. Emergency Hormonal Contraception (more commonly known as the ‘Morning After Pill’ or 'plan B') is available free of charge via an NHS funded service at Wicker Pharmacy.

It can be taken up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex – however, the earlier the better.

Please note that the pharmacist will have a confidential discussion with you. In the discussion, the pharmacist will assess the suitability of emergency contraception for you and can advise you on the risks of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) as well as providing information about what to do in the long term, such as considering options for ongoing contraception. No appointment needed,  but be aware there may be a short wait.

02

Oral Contraception

A free of charge NHS service
Instead of waiting for a GP appointment, you can visit Wicker Pharmacy, at a time that suits you, and get the same expert advice in confidence. If you have never used contraception before or if you have already been prescribed contraception, our pharmacists will be able to provide you with your supply.
This is an appointment only service and is free of charge (funded by the NHS).

STI testing

If you have been at risk of an STI, its best to take a test
We are unable to offer testing for sexually transmitted infections from our premises at the moment.  In Sheffield free of charge NHS testing is available from Sexual Health Sheffield. Private STI kits can be purchased from Fettle.
